About Sankey...

Richard Sankey and Son Ltd is the leading UK manufacturer of Garden and Horticultural Products in the UK having been established for over 150 years.

Known to six generations of gardeners and nurserymen, the name Sankey is synonymous with premium quality flower pots, planters and all manner of specialised garden containers.

Originally manufacturing in clay, as early as 1912 the firm was making 500 000 flower pots a week. The largest pots weighed nearly a hundredweight each and had an ingenious false bottom to facilitate removal of the plant without disturbing the roots.

The Pottery had its own railway sidings at the time and even in these early days Sankey products were exported all over the world including New Zealand, Jamaica and British Columbia. Such enterprise earned Sankey & Son a Royal Warrant from his Majesty King George V; one of several Royal Warrants held by the company over the years.

Sankey became part of the Fiskars Brands Group in 1999 along with brands such as Fiskars Garden Tools (www.fiskarsgarden.co.uk), Kitchen Devils and Fiskars School, Office and Craft. As part of a multinational company our sister companies include Ebert in Germany and Fiskars Home and Leisure in the US. We have a strong international supply network in both Europe and the Americas giving us access to an extensive range of new product innovations each year.

By operating an injection and rotational moulding factory on site and an outsourced blow moulding facility, our product portfolio of garden products has since grown to offer an extensive range of garden, environmental and waste management products.

Throughout its history Sankey has established a reputation for quality and innovation amongst the trade which extends to our customers.

All our manufacturing facilities operate under a BS ISO 9001-2000 accredited manufacturing, warehousing and distribution centre environment. In order to offer a comprehensive distribution service Sankey operates its own 12 trailer fleet. Furthermore we have established a key partnership with a distribution and warehousing company in the North West.

By offering an unrivalled customer service based on continuous innovation and investment; our existing supply network includes the leading DIY multiples such as B&Q, Homebase, Focus and Wickes as well as national and independent garden and hardware centres.
